FAQs
Do I have to go to all seven locations?
No, you don’t have to go to every location. We hope you’ll try to visit as many as possible. We suggest looking at what each location offers to plan your Open Chapel Hill Day. If you want to visit as many locations as possible, we recommend spending no more than 20 minutes at each.
If I want to ride the bus, where should I park?
If you want to ride the bus, we recommend you park at Town Hall, the Library, Transit, or Public Works, as parking is limited at other locations. When you’re done, you can ride the bus back to the location where you parked.
There is also bike parking at each of the participating Town facilities.
I’m busy on Open Chapel Hill Day. When will this happen again?
This is our first Open Chapel Hill Day, and we hope to host the event again next year. We haven’t set future dates yet. The best way to find out what we’re planning in the future is to sign up to sign up to Receive Our Town - News, Events, Stories, and Alerts from the Town of Chapel Hill.
Do I have to register?
No, this event is meant to be a ‘choose your own adventure’ type activity. You can drop in to any site at any time between the hours of 10am and 2pm.
OWASA is hosting a pre-event tour at 9am and they are requiring registration and can accommodate 25 people in their tour. Register here.
How do I participate in the bonus OWASA tour?
OWASA will be hosting a tour of their Jones Ferry facility at 9am. You must register for this tour and it has a limit of 25 people. Sign up(External link) to participate.
If you don’t want to drive for the day, a CHT bus will take you to Town Hall at 10am. It’ll return to OWASA from Town Hall at 2pm.
